VA9, Ep. 3 A visit to Goliad leads me to The Emily Morgan Hotel, Gold and Gargoyles across from the Alamo

As I found myself this week, staring at gargoyles in downtown San Antonio, across from the Alamo, I began a journey of remembrance. I went back to reflect upon our recent visit to Goliad, and realized the past and its abundant artifacts are as eloquent as gargoyles and their many architectural relatives. I delve into the Mission Espiritu Santo's treasures, saving the historical turmoils of Goliad for later. I conclude back at the Emily Morgan Hotel, staring at gargoyles afflicted with human illnesses. Processing some current news, I concluded that The Green Man, as well as gargoyles and concrete evidences emerging from our our past, are revealing that our history has wisdom of immense value to share with us, and we imperil our future if our present neglects this basic principle.

VA9, Ep. 2 ES Gárgulas, Bosses, Grotescos y Sheela NaGigs

Comenzamos con un encuentro con varios de los parientes cercanos del Hombre Verde. El definitivamente tiene una familia pintoresca e interesante, y de hecho, fue siguiendo a una gárgula simpática llamada Orito que descubrí su existencia. Al seguir sus señales, descubrí el sentido original de la palabra Boss, aprendí acerca de los Grotescos y hallé un poderoso símbolo arcaico de la feminidad, Sheela na gig, una regeneradora de la vida, quien existe desde el período Neolítico. Luego, exploro la etimología de la palabra  gárgula y comparto algunas de mis creaciones, un libro inicialmente y una instalación de arte enorme, una villa mágica donde los espíritus del Amazonas tejen narrativas y en la que honro a los migrantes y celebro la compleja coexistencia del hombre con la naturaleza, invitándote a recordar al Humano Verde que vive dentro de cada uno de nosotros.

VA9, Ep. 2 Gargoyles, Bosses, Grotesques and Sheela na gigs!

We begin to meet some of the closest relatives of the Green Man. He does have an interesting, colorful family, and in fact, I was led to discover his existence by a simpatico Gargoyle called Orito. Following him, I discovered the original meaning of Bosses, found out what Grotesques were and found out a powerful symbol of womanhood, Sheela na gig, a regeneratrix of life, whose influence goes back as far as the Neolithic period. I go deep into the etymology of the word Gargoyle, and share some of my creations, a book and an ongoing art installation, a magical village where Amazon Spirits weave narrative and where I honor migrants and celebrate humanity's quest to coexist with Nature, by remembering the Green Human within each one of us.

VA9, Ep. 1 ES Re-dedicación de VA-La Introducción del Hombre Verde

!Bienvenidos de nuevo! Al comenzar nuestra novena temporada, repaso acontecimientos significativos del 2024, un año que marqué con la palabra Emerger, como transformación de lo que sentí estábamos viviendo a nivel colectivo; una Emergencia. Victoria Amazónica me guió, con visiones y la jornada alrededor del Círculo Medicinal, durante la temporada #8. Ahora, un emerger concreto, que hace eco del nacimiento inicial de Victoria Amazónica, ha llegado a mi vida. Un nuevo ser es una declaración de esperanza y fe en el poder de la vida de renovarse a sí misma, de reciclar la muerte en renacimiento, de responder a los gritos de desesperación y angustia con carcajadas, intención, gusto, alegría y el placer de vivir intensamente y con propósito.
Reviso el desarrollo de las variaciones temáticas que he presentado en cada nueva entrega. Luego, introduzco la novena temporada con una invitación: Por favor sígueme, amigo explorador, a perdernos de nuevo en la selva, de la mano del Hombre Verde.

VA9 Ep. 1, Re-dedication of VictoriaAmazonica -The Introduction of the Green Man

Welcome back! As we take off on this 9th season, I review my thought processes in 2024, a year I labeled with the word Emergence, as a transformation of what I felt we were living collectively, Emergency.
Victoria Amazonica led me, with visions and the year-long journey around the Medicine Wheel, in Season #8. Now, a concrete emergence, which echoes the initial birth of VA, which I retell, is coming into my life. A new life is a statement of hope and belief in the power of life to renew itself, to recycle death into rebirth, to respond to wails of despair and hopelessness with laughter, intention, gusto, joy and the intense pleasure of being intensely and purposefully, alive.
I review the development of the thematic variations I have presented with each season. Then I introduce the 9th season with an invitation:
Please follow me, dear fellow explorer, as we enter the density of the forest, hand in hand with the Green Man.

VA 8, Ep. 13, ES Experiencia, Introspección y Fortaleza, la culminación de nuestra jornada alrededor del Círculo Medicinal

En el último episodio de este año, acudí a una fuente de sabiduría que atesoro, un pequeño libro verde titulado Pensar como una Montaña, para presentar la experiencia de una educación afectiva, ofrecida por el ejercicio colectivo del ritual del Concejo de Todos los Seres. También exploramos los conceptos de ecología profunda, Ritual y el Recordar Evolutivo. Al llegar a la Introspección, seguimos a Joanna Macy y a John Seed con sus Meditaciones de Gaia, quienes nos guían con las preguntas cruciales: ¿Qué soy? ¿Qué eres? Luego, al llegar a la Fortaleza, el último totem del aro de la vida, comparto el testimonio del tipo de fortaleza que necesitamos en este momento. Graham Innes escribió su relato de conexión con la tierra al actuar en defensa de la Selva Daintree, en Australia, enterrándose con otros activistas en el lodo. Las palabras de dos maestros me ayudan a concluír esta poderosa jornada, y cierro el Círculo Medicinal con un ejercicio concreto de Transformación.

VA8, Ep. 13 Experience, Introspection and Strength; the culmination of our journey around the Medicine Wheel

In the last episode of this year, I went to a fountain of wisdom I cherish, a small green book titled Thinking like a Mountain to present the experience of an affective education, offered by the collective exercise of the transformative ritual The Council of all Beings. We also explore the concepts of Deep Ecology, Ritual and Evolutionary Remembering. As we reach Introspection, we follow the lead of Joanna Macy and John Seed's Gaia Meditations as they respond to two crucial questions: What are you? What am I? Then, as we reach Strength, the last totem of the Hoop of Life, I share a first person testimony of the fortitude I believe is necessary to summon right now, as Graham Innes wrote in his narrative of Earth Bonding when he acted in defense of Daintree Forest, in Australia, burying himself with fellow activists up to his neck in the soil. Words and Art of two masters; Jacek Yerka and Harlan Ellison, allow me to conclude this powerful journey, and I close the Medicine Wheel by offering you the gift of a concrete exercise in Transformation.

VA8, Ep. 12 ES La lluminación de una Nueva Visión, el Crecimiento y la Recuperación de la Confianza

Continuamos nuestro trayecto alrededor del Círculo Medicinal y encontramos 3 tótems que parecen tener una relación radical, significativa y evolucionaria. Comenzamos con el concepto de lluminación, y no tan solo como la llegada física de la luz, sino del despertar de la conciencia. Inspirada por noticias recientes acerca de la disminución notable en la lectura de libros en las instituciones educativas, continúo compartiendo mis libros, y hoy elijo honrar a un visionario, una verdadera luminaria, William Blake. Después de realizar un resumen de su historia de vida, exploramos la idea del crecimiento y a continuación, la frágil idea de la confianza, la que parece ser un recurso escaso en nuestra realidad contemporánea. Talvez formulo más preguntas de las que me siento equipada para contestar, pero es necesario darle voz a nuestras angustias y preocupaciones, ese es el comienzo de la aventura compartida que une a la humanidad.
