VA 8, Ep. 4 ES El Pájaro Trueno, Mariposas y los Búfalos, los Seres que representan los Espíritus de quienes persisten y sobreviven

En esta nueva visita al Círculo Medicinal, exploraremos los dos totems pendientes en el eje del aro de la vida. El Totem #7 lo habita el poder eléctrico del Pájaro Trueno, y exploraremos su simbología. Luego aterrizamos en la estación #8 y hallamos que lo mantiene en el aire la presencia de la mariposa, cuya función como fuente de inspiración y su esencia, misteriosamente transformativa, permanece intrigante. Luego, partimos en dirección Norte, donde encontramos la presencia sólida y majestuosa del Búfalo, el totem #8 es el representante icónico de Norte América. Nos guían las voces de una poeta, el saber ancestral de las voces Indígenas de América y un precioso libro que está dedicado tan en su totalidad al Búfalo.

VA8, Ep. 4 Thunderbirds, Butterflies and the Survivors’ Spirits of Buffalo

On this new visit to the Medicine Wheel, we explore the two remaining totems on the axis of the hoop of life. Totem #7 is held by the electric power of the Thunderbird, and we explore its powerful symbology. Then we alight on station #8 and we find it held aloft by the presence of the butterfly, whose function as an inspiration and mysteriously transformative essence remains intriguing. We exit towards the North, where we find the solid, majestic presence of the Buffalo at totem #8, the iconic representative of North America. We are led by the voices of a poet, the ancestral wisdom of the Indigenous voices of America once again, and a precious book which is dedicated solely to the Buffalo. Come join the Circle!

VA8, Ep. 3 ES El Círculo Medicinal: Nuestra conexión con las cuatro direcciones y el Aro de la Vida

Exploramos un sentimiento intenso de presencia, alegría y amor que experimenté en un sueño premonitorio, que revelaba esperanza para el futuro y resaltaba la eterna capacidad de renovación que posee la vida.
El Círculo Medicinal nos revelará su poder a medida que avanzaremos, partiendo de su eje y hacia sus radios, compartiré algunos de los datos que obtuve en mis investigaciones al respecto.
Aguila/Tortuga Caminadora nos vuelve a guiar hacia el el Círculo Medicinal con sus sabias palabras acerca de los indígenas de las Grandes Praderas de Norte América, contenidas en su libro, América Indígena. El nos invita a honrar a la Madre Tierra, y yo invoco además, a la Hermana Tortuga, el Hermano Sapo, quienes son los elementos representados en las estaciones #4, 5 y 6 del Círculo Medicinal; el gran aro de la vida.
El concepto de acercarse a los asuntos y problemas de la vida al dividirlos mentalmente en cuatro nos proporciona una manera de observar los muchos lados de cualquier dilema, y esa posición, reveladora, nos permite reconciliar fuerzas o ideas que semejen ser opuestas.

VA8, Ep. 3 The Medicine Wheel; our connection to the four directions and the Hoop of Life

We explore an intense feeling of presence, joy and love that I experienced in a premonitory dream, revealing hope for the future and the eternal renewal of life.
The Medicine Wheel will reveal its power as we advance throughout its axis and spokes, and I provide some of my research findings.
We are led back to the Medicine Wheel by Eagle/Walking Turtle's wisdom about the Indians of the Great Plains, contained in his book, Indian America. We are led to honor Mother Earth, Sister Turtle and Brother Frog, the 4th, 5th and 6th stations in the Great Hoop.
The concept of approaching issues and life's problems by dividing them into fours, exemplified by the quarters of the Wheel, provides a tool for us all to contemplate the many sides of any issue, and the revelatory position that allows us to reconcile what seem like opposing forces or ideas. VA8, Ep. 2 ES Visitando el Círculo Medicinal

Comenzamos esta colección especial de voces Indígenas, cuentos e ideas cuidadosamente elegidas para entretener y educar durante este verano intensamente caliente. Con el propósito de establecer un puente con las experiencias de los Incas, inicialmente escuchamos la voz de Aguila/Tortuga Caminadora que nos describe la dislocación que sufrieron los Pueblos Nativos de esta tierra que hoy llamamos Estados Unidos al llegar los Europeos, y nos invita a explorar los descendientes contemporáneos en la introducción de su libro, titulado América Indígena. También nos presenta el concepto central del Círculo Medicinal, crucial para las ideas y los valores de su gente.
Al progresar en esta temporada, yo te guiaré para visitar las 36 estaciones del Círculo Medicinal durante el transcurso del verano.
Visitaremos 3 estaciones en cada episodio, para permitirnos tiempo para reflexionar. En cada episodio, también te contaré una historia que proviene de las muchas comunidades que han vivido en los diversos rincones de  la America ancestral, de tierras tan distantes como Alaska y hasta el extremo sur del continente, La tierra del Fuego.

VA8, Ep. 2 Visiting the Medicine Wheel

We begin a special collection of Indigenous voices, stories and ideas carefully curated to entertaing and educate during this uniquely hot summer. In order to establish a bridge to the experiences of the Incas, we begin by  listening to Eagle/Walking Turtle as he describes the dislocation the Native People of this land we now call the United States experienced when Europeans arrived, and he invites us to explore their contemporary descendants in the introduction to his book, Indian America. He also introduces us to the concept of the Medicine Wheel, central to the ideas and values of his people.
As we progress in this season, I will lead you to visit all 36 stations of the Medicine Wheel throughtout the summer.
We will visit 3 stations of the 36 in every episode, in order to allow time for reflection.
In each episode, we will also listen to a story from one of the many peoples who were the original inhabitants of many different corners of America, from lands as distant as Alaska to the southernmost tip, La tierra del Fuego.

VA8, Ep. 1, Re-dedicación de Victoria Amazónica: Un pedúnculo, un pecíolo, o un pedicelo, una rama, un tronco, o una hoja?

Al comenzar mi octava temporada, regreso al por qué y a las razones por las cuales Victoria Amazónica, un experimento de narrativa bilingüe, existe. Regreso al comienzo, de manera literal y figurativa, y continúo forulando las preguntas difíciles. Cada uno de nosotros, ¿seremos una flor, o tan solo un pétalo, un pedúnculo, un pecíolo, o un pedicelo, una rama, un tronco, o una hoja? La vida nos pregunta a diario: ¿eligirás relacionarte, iluminar, mejorar, guiar o contribuirás a amplificar la desesperación, el ansia de darnos por vencidos?

As I begin my 8th season, I return to the Why, the What, the reasons why Victoria Amazonica exists as a bilingual storytelling experiment. I return to the beginning, literally and figuratively, and I insist on asking hard questions. Are we each a bloom, a petal, A peduncule, a petiole, or a pedicel,
a branch, a trunk, a leaf? Life insists on asking daily; will you choose to connect, illuminate, enhance, guide or choose to grow the darkness, the despair, the urge to surrender? Join our ongoing adventures in the Emerald Forest and continue to discover nature's answers to humanity's most pressing inquiries.
