Aprovechando su análisis, profundizamos en un artículo escrito por Terrence McCoy, publicado por el Washington Post, en el que él viaja al Amazonas para investigar las muertes de Dom Phillips, su amigo y el Indigenista, Bruno Pereira. Con su periodismo investigativo magistral, nos revela por qué el Amazonas está en tanto peligro. Hoy celebramos la esperanza que representa la victoria de Lula Da Silva para la Selva y el mundo entero. Yo me comprometo a continuar narrando las historias de la Selva Esmeralda, confiando en que no apartemos la vista de este tesoro y actuemos antes de que sea demasiado tarde.

I return with the topic of Good And EVil, led by The Prohet’s words, Khalil Gibran timeless book, and we are led by his analysis, to an article written by Terrence McCoy, published by The Washington Post, in which he travels to the Amazon and investigates why his friend, Dom Phillips, and the Indigenista, Bruno Pereira, were killed. With his extraordinary investigative journalism, he also reveals why The Amazon is in such peril. I commit to continue to tell the stories of the Emerald Forest, hoping we won’t look away and we act before it’s too late. 

VA4, Ep.18 ES El Regalo Finito del Tiempo

Este es un episodio en el que exploramos las muchas caras del Tiempo. Nos guían las palabras de El Profeta, y luego menciono un libro que encontré recientemente, llamado “El Dueño del Tiempo”, que me ayudó a madurar mi reflexión. También menciono El Hombre del Hueco, el último sobreviviente de una tribu aislada de la Amazonía quien fue hallado, muerto, y con él, el pasado afirma su presencia. Regreso al primer episodio de Victoria Amazónica y solicito un receso de un mes, el regalo del tiempo que necesitio para enfocar toda mi energía para vivir una ocasión especial en la vida de mi familia. Mi pregunta final es: “Qué te motivaría a abandonar los compromisos cotidianos obligados para regalarte a ti mismo el don del tiempo?”

VA 4, Ep. 18 The Finite Gift of Time

This is an episode in which we explore the many facets of Time. We are led by The Prophet’s words, and then I mention a book I found recently, which helped me mature my reflection, “The Time Keeper”, by Mitch Albom. I also mention the Man in the Hole, the lone survivor of an Amazon uncontacted tribe who was found dead this week, and the past asserts its presence. I revisit my first episode and announce my one month recess, a gift of time I need to focus all my energy for a special occasion in our family’s life.  My final question: “What would make you walk away from the to-dos of daily demands and give yourself the gift of time?”

VA Ep.17 ES Tu Amigo es la Respuesta a tus Necesidades

El Episodio 17 es una meditación que surge de esta pregunta:
¿Será que la forma en que percibimos a la naturaleza también puede distorsionar nuestras relaciones humanas?
Respondí con acción. Celebré mi cumpleaños refrescando mis relaciones más preciadas y pasando tiempo con aquellos a quienes llamo mis amigos del alma. Me deleité de poder compartir algunas de sus historias, y luego volvemos a la Amazonía Colombiana para ser testigos de la Danza del Chontaduro, enmarcados por un medio ambiente que requiere colaboración, los pueblos indígenas celebran el regalo de la abundancia con los demás y expresan, al mismo tiempo, su respeto por la naturaleza. La Amistad y la Conversación, iluminadas por las palabras de El Profeta, son los tesoros que te invito a celebrar conmigo en este episodio lleno de intención y pleno en sentido. 

VA 4, Ep. 17 A Friend is Your Needs, Answered

Episode 17  is a meditation that arises from this question:
Does the way we perceive nature distort the way we value our human relationships too?
I answered with action. I celebrated my birthday by refreshing my relationships and spending time with those I call my friends of the soul. I delight in sharing some of their stories, and then we go back to the Colombian Amazon to witness the Yukuna’s Chontaduro dance, within an environment that demands collaboration, the indigenous people celebrate by sharing their abundance with others and by expressing their respect for nature. Friendship and conversation, illuminated by The Prophet’s words, are the treasures I invite you to celebrate with me in this heart-felt episode. 

VA4, Ep. 16 ES. Los Maestros de La Naturaleza; Se enseña haciendo

Este episodio es una meditación llena de amor acerca de la Enseñanza. Partimos con las palabras de El Profeta que afirman que el trabajo de un Maestro es en realidad, una labor que proporciona la guía, acompañamiento y liderazgo que nos permite descubrir el saber que reside en nuestro interior. Luego volvemos a viajar a la Amazonía Colombiana, para descubrir las comunidades que han habitado allí por milenios, quienes en su conocimiento de la naturaleza y la coexistencia que han establecido con ella, tienen tanto qué enseñarnos a todos nosotros. Comenzamos por aprender acerca la cosmología y la sabiduría cultural de los Huitotos, la Gente del Centro, de la Yuca y el Tabaco, quienes en sus labores diarias, están enseñando una manera de vida sostenible.   

VA 4, EP. 16 The Masters of Nature, on Teaching as Doing

This episode is a loving meditation on Teaching. Departing from the words of The Prophet on the assertion that a Teacher’s job is truly an exercise in guidance, mentorship and leadership into the threshold of our own mind. We then travel to the Colombian Amazon, to discover the communities that have thrived there for milennia, who in their knowledge of nature and coexistence with it, have so much to teach us all. We begin by learning about the cosmology and cultural wisdom of the Huitotos, the People of the Center, of Cassava and Tobacco, who in their daily doing are in fact, teaching a sustainable way of life.
