¡Y volvimos a arrancar! Este es el primer episodio de Victoria Amazonica, esta es nuestra sexta temporada. Volvemos a la Selva Esmeralda y esta vez, en particular, a la ciudad mágica de Oaxaca. También te cuento sobre mi hija, Susi Lopera, quien acaba de abrir su propio Oasis de la Mecanización, un estudio de enseñanza del arte.

We resume our adventures through our Inner Forests, and the return to the beginning prompts us to ask better questions. 
I will continue to fuse my life’s stories with the voice of the Amazon, and today, I travel back to the memory of the days before my mother’s death, the inspiration she became for my daughter’s art and how they both have became teachers of humility for me. I also take you to Oaxaca to learn from the masters of the ancestral craft of pottery making and to perhaps create our own Oases of Mechanization within our lives. Let’s libate, and remember that to Earth we Belong!

In honor of my 54th Birthday, I highlight the commitment I have to continue to tell the stories of the Amazon Rainforest. I mention a real-life Victoria Amazonica that is unfolding in Ecuador, and post a link to a @mongabay podcast episode. Esta intrigante pregunta concluye la exploración fantástica de Loren McIntyre de la Cuenca Amazónica. El illumina la interrogación con un resumen histórico y su  narrativa personal. Simultáneamente, esta semana concluyó la Cumbre de la Amazonía en Belem de Pará, y comparto algunos de los reportajes noticiosos que cubrieron el evento; todos resaltan la relevancia de este esfuerzo por establecer consenso y colaboración entre las naciones que comparten la cuenca y el resto del mundo acerca de cómo resolver las crisis que están amenazando a la Selva Esmeralda; todas ellas tienen repercusiones a nivel global. La Esperanza persiste, tal como en la caja de Pandora’s box, y cada uno de nosotros está invitado a ser un agente de su manifestación en el mundo.

Amazonia: a Trunk of Treasure or Pandora’s box? This intriguing question concludes Loren McIntyre’s extraordinary exploration of the Amazon Basin. He illuminates the issue with history and personal narrative. Interestingly, precisely this week the Amazon Summit is being held in Belem do Pará, and I share some of the recent news reports about the relevance of this effort to establish consensus and collaboration between the countries that share the basin and the rest of the world about how to tackle the crises unfolding in the Emerald Forest; which have global repercussions. Hope remains, just as in Pandora’s box, and each one of us is invited to become an agent of Hope.

VA4, Ep. 14 ES El Amazonas Enamora al Mar disfrazado de Bronce Lîquido

Alcanzamos al Río Amazonas en su carrera, y lo hallamos convertido en bronce líquido que ansía llegar a fundirse con el mar.  Loren McIntyree nos sacude con el relato de un terremoto que ocurrió en Ecuador en 1987, con el objetivo de recordarnos que el cambio es el que manda el juego en la Tierra.  McIntyre también nos presenta más exploradores de la cuenca, algunos contemporáneos, quienes vivieron sus propias  Victorias Amazónicas. También escuchamos sobre las desventuras que ocurrieron cada vez que los seres humanos hemos tratado de optimizar la selva para explotarla. Luego, concluyo con una Fábiula para el Tercer  Milenio contigo, que nos susurra que nosotros somos, de hecho, las semillas del mañana.
