VA5, Ep. 8 Metal Vs. Flesh, Solidarity vs. Enmity, A Global Fortress or Interdependent Productive Bioregions?

Happy Earth Day. I celebrate Victoria Amazonica’s third anniversary with an intensely personal episode in which I ask hard questions. I analyze the message of “Once You Know”, a movie about our environmental colllapse which asks: How to live with the idea that the human adventure may fail? I share a story about one of my encounters with my mortality in Colombia, which I titled Metal Vs. Flesh, and I question the culture of death in America, in which a mistake can result in the end of an innocent life. I end with a message from the Hopi Nation, in which we are reminded: We are the ones we have been waiting for.
